For the past 3.5 years, Debra has been recruiting and working in staff development at Smith Technologies. Prior to this, she worked in Human Resources as a director and recruiting manager.

Debra is Board Chair and CEO of the Tembo Trading Education Project, a nonprofit organization that provides a unique model for education and addressing poverty and economic challenges in Kenya. She has been working in Kenya for over 16 years. A book about the success and challenges of her work was published in May 2013, Beneath the Baobab Tree – Where Poverty Dies and Hope Begins.

Debra has 40 years of experience in a variety of industries and government entities and she has also owned her own retail and manufacturing businesses. Her experience includes international and domestic business development, human resources, and education. She holds an MBA in Asia Pacific Management and a Doctorate in Organization Behavior and Management Psychology.
